General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for asking. Signs of inflammation at site of appendix suggests appendicitis. It can be treated palliatively or by surgery. -a)do not massage or foment abdomen.Take medicines advised by a surgeon .. (antibiotic, anti inflammatory &metranidazole...medicines)/taking rest & light diet . -b) Need forsurgery... arises if it turns to acute abdomen (pain, fever, vomitting,)These symptoms indicate urgent intervention by appendisectomy.... in such case ER visit is needful. Thanks.
