Does Panic Attacks Cause Palpitations, chest Pain And Shaking In Hands?
hi my son who is 25 has gone to er 2 times in the past year for feeling like he is having a heart attack- it has come from no where all the sudden his heart beat feels really hard and his chest hurts his arms and legs start shaking and he is cold but sweating he also is confused when this happens and stops talking in mid sentence and has no clue what he was talking about. he is 6 ft tall thin active healthy (except for asthma as a child) he also feels like he cant get enough air when this happens. er doctors have told him ekg says heart is fine he may be having a panic attack he doesnt think that is what it is- although he said when it happens he does feel like he panics because its scary
I think, he has panic attacks and in that case, he needs antidepressant like paroxetine with benzodiazepine. That would help to control these attacks. he can also try some relaxation exercise like JPMR or deep breathing exercise. That would keep him calm or relax. Better to consult a psychiatrist for proper treatment. In case, he needs further help, you can ask.
Thanks
