Does Passing Large Blood Clots When 10 Weeks Pregnant Require Medical Attention?
I m ten weeks pregnant and I keep passing blood clots. They are bigger and bigger.I called my local hospital the nurse said it isn t anything they can do.The blood will have to stop on it on.She said go to my doctor in the morning and rest.Is this signs of a miscarriage.
Hello dear, I understand your concern. In my opinion the bleeding during pregnancy needs to be evaluated. There are various causes for bleeding during pregnancy like :- 1)Thyroid abnormalities. 2)Progesterone insufficiency. 3)Bleeding from cervix. etc.
So the above causes need to be evaluated by doing physical examination and necessary investigations like thyroid profile ,ultrasound.
Physical examination helps to rule out any cervical abnormalities, ultrasound to know the well being of pregnancy and thyroid profile to rule out any thyroid abnormalities.
Even with presence of bleeding during pregnancy it might continue till term and have good outcome sometimes.
