Does Pressing The Nose Hard Strongly For A Long Time Make The Nose Flat?
Dear doctor, does pressing the nose hard strongly for a long time make the nose flat? Does twisting the nose hard strongly for a long time make the nose bent? Similarly, do pressing and twisting the nose hard strongly for a long time block and narrow the nasal breathing passages? I am 29 years old. What about the children s nose? Please make me clear. Answers from ENT specialists will be highly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Pressing or twisting the nose does not cause any permanent change in the shape of the nose even if it is a small child.The nose contains cartilage and the bones which maintain the shape of the nose and cannot be changed like this.

If you look back into this forum a similar query has been answered by me. No, the shape of the nose does not change by pulling it forward or prolonged pressing of the nose as the bony part of the nose will not get altered by any of these forces, neither the cartilaginous part of the nasal framework, unless it is damaged by surgery or granulomatous diseases. Cartilaginous part is rubbery in nature and springs back even after pressing it for a long time.
