Does Prolactin Level Have Any Effect On Pregnancy?
O.k. My prolactin level is at 32. I have normal periods. No headaches. I use tum s on occasion for acid reflux. I take mucinex on occasion and a singulair for allergies as needed. I do take a multivitamin. The only symptom I had is bigger boobs triple d from a regular d cup. My bio mother did have a brain tumor of the pituitary. The doctor I went to said I need a MRI and a mammogram. Could any of the over the counter medicine have affected my levels? I am 36 years old and am Not pregnant.

prolactin level of more than 25 needs evaluation...it is due to increased secretion of prolactin by pitutary gland due to tumour of it...thats why MRI brain is required to know the cause...the family history of same tumour also increases the risk..
ya many medications increase the level of prolactin..so false result may be there...like anti psychotic drugs or dopamine antagonist drugs can increase the level of prolactin...even breast massage can increase its level...
