Does Pulmonary Embolism In Right Lung Causes Shaky And Inconsistent Voice?

I have a pulmonary embolism in my right lung. Would this make my voice shaky and inconsistant? I cannot talk without coughing and being short of breath and MY VOICE SOUNDS LIKE A 100 YEAR OLD WOMAN. Is this normal? I m trying to make sure nothing else is wrong.

Hi,

Pulmonary embolism can cause difficult breathing problem and cough. But it doesn't change the voice of the affected person.

For your changed voice, you need to consult otorhinolaryngologist for indirect laryngoscopy examination to visualize vocal cords and larynx. If any specific cause found than treated accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
