Does Quinsy Feeling In Throat Need Treatment?

Hi I have tonsillitis which was diagnosed by my doctor yesterday 26 hours ago. She gave me antibiotics and She was concerned that I may get quinsy and told me that if I don t feel better in a couple of days to come back or go to the hospital (she checked that I don t live alone so that they could monitor me) Is there an easy way to tell if I have got quinsy as I m not feeling better at the moment but don t want to waste the hospitals time (plus I can cope with lying in bed but getting up is my idea of hell). Do all causes of quinsy need treatment?

quinsy is collection of pus near tonsils. this may cause swelling in the throat and in turn lead to breathing difficulties. depending on the extent, one can go for surgical drainage, but in most cases tonsillitis is managed by antibiotics alone. so if you develop high fever of have difficulty breathing (you will already be having difficulty swallowing i presume) then you must immediately visit the hospital
