Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had no symptoms of TB excepting montaux test postive. Still I was started on R cinex 600. After 6 months of R cinex 600, my hip joints affected by synovities and inflammated. No trauma, no injury, fever or anything of the sort. Range of motion of hip was reduced. Arthrosopic biopsy was done but no TB or Granulomos or other diseases found. But it was found that femoral head Grade 2 chondrol damage. I doubt that the inflammation in the hip joint is drug induced (Rcinex 600 mg). I am still on Rcinex and advised 9 months course. 8 months have already gone. Can I stop the Rcinex now since there is no TB found ? Is the hip join pain is Rcinex induced?
R-Cinex is unlikely to cause pain in the hip joint. The most common side effects of R-Cinex include flu like symptoms, orange colored urine, saliva or tears. It may also cause liver dysfunction, inflammation of the peripheral nerves, and anemia. Grade-2 chondral damage of the femoral head seems to be due to some trivial injury. Continue taking R-Cinex as prescribed and consult an orthopedic surgeon for the pain in the hip joint.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
