Does Rapid Breathing Before Radiography Lead To Cardiac Silhoutte?
Recent chest x-ray showed prominent cardiac silhoutte and mild venous congestion. This was taken during severe flank pain that turned out to be a kidney stone already in the right ureter. I was breathing rapid and shallow prior to radiography due to pain. Could the breathing cause the findings?
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. No, rapid and shallow breathing can not cause prominent cardiac silhouette and mild venous congestion. Prominent cardiac silhouette is commonly seen in hypertension and other heart diseases like coronary heart disease, cardiomyopathy etc. Venous congestion is also seen in hypertension. So better to get done blood pressure monitoring, ecg and 2d echo to rule out heart diseases as a cause fir your x ray findings. Rapid and shallow breathing can not cause this. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
