Does Removal Of Mirena IUD At The Age Of 53 Cause Heavy Bleeding?

I had a Mirena iud put in when I was well into pre-menopause (around 48) figuring that when I had it out 5 years later, I would be fully menopausal and no more heavy periods. I am now 53 and just had it removed day before yesterday. What should I expect? I haven t had a period in 2 years and had them once in awhile before. Should I be menopausal at 53? Can I expect more heavy bleeding? Should I have another put in?

dear HCM patient.welcome.i understand your question very well.the answer is simple.if you reached menopause you wont have your menses. but if you do ,then i advice you to use an iucd with life of around 2-3 yrs then going for five years. to be considered as menopausal you should not have menses for atleast a year. so i recommend you to relax and dont hush up things.
thanks for visiting and you can update me on your situation anytime you want.
have a good day and good health
