Does Removal Of Gall Bladder Cause Adverse Side Effects?

I have been going through alot of tests lately which are all pointing to having my gallbladder removed. In fact another scare is that there may be a carcinoma involved. I just had an MRI today. I have already had ultrasound and a cat scan. The results are stating that carcinoma can not be excluded, so hence all the tests. I wasn't that concerned about having my gallbladder removed until I went online to a gallbladder forum and read about all these people who have had awful life changing results from having theirs removed. I am actually having an anxiety attack right around now over this. I always thought it was a pretty cut and dry surgery and that you didn't really need your gallbladder. These people are suffering months and years following their surgery. Is it more common to have serious problems or not. I am really scared especially not having much of a choice.
