Does Removing 1/4th Of Lung Cure Lung Cancer?

Lolita Johnson: My mom recently ad surgery for lung cancer and they removed 1/4 of her lung. I was told by the physicians if the surgery was succes ful sh would not ned chemo or radiation is that true



Lolita Johnson: my mom is sort of in denial that it was actually cancer the doctors said it was she had 1 nodule s tarted in august of last year by this time in april se had 2 that would not be a tumor?



Lolita Johnson: She returned today and they said they cut out everything which was about 1 centimeter each

Surgery offers the best chance for cure in lung cancer, unfortunately not many are in a stage where they can be operated upon.

What kind of surgery was done, based on that and what is the post operative histopathology, what is the status of regional lymphnodes, All these dictate the need for further chemothearpy and radiation.
