Hi,

Since there is no bleeding and open cut, taking a tetanus shot is not indicated. However, it is advisable to wash the region with soap and water an apply an antibiotic ointment like neosporin. As a protective measure you are already vaccinated and you have tetanus antibodies within you.

For those subjects who have proof of either completing their course of primary immunizations containing tetanus toxoid or receiving a booster shot within the previous 5 years no additional dose of tetanus toxoid is recommended even if you get a bleeding injury.
