Does Sharp Pain In Knee While Stretching Suggest A Tear?
hello my name is Skylor Calhoun and I have a issue with my knee October 18th my knee gave out in a football game Advent inside and I felt as if I tore something I felt like a steak was being torn apart and when I got helped off the field I couldnt walk or stand on it and when I tried to, it would give out and then decide two weeks later when I was cleared to play I thought it would be fine they told me I just hyper extended it but I feel like it wasn tit. everytime I try to straighten my knee to the full ability I get a sharp pain from a rate of one to ten it would be a 9 I don t know if it s torn or I don t know what it is but can you please help me
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Sharp pain in the knee due to stretching does not indicate that there could be tear. It would have caused due to sprain in the ligament or tendon of the knee joint. Kindly take analgesics with muscle relaxants to overcome such pain. You may need to wear a knee cap during stretching exercises.
