Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can a recent sinus infection cause tsh level to rise slightly out of range? I am typically around 3.0 but twice now in last few years my tsh has been out of range at about 4.4, 4.6---both times I have had a bad sinus infection just a few weeks prior to blood work being done. I have no other symptoms of hypothyroidism, no weight gain hair loss and definitely no constipation .
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, no infection or inflammatory condition could elevate the TSH level and if it being high then this need to be further investigated, for thyroid dysfunction, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
