Does Skipping A Bisoprolol Dosage Cause Any Complications?
Hello I have dilated cardiomyopathy and are various medication but my question is about bisoprolol 2.5mg last year I was on 1.25 and did some fun rides at a theme park and was very unwell but I want to do another theme park ride but I know I should not? Could I stop taking the medication for just the day?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.
What I can understand from your description is it's cardiomyopathy which caused that episode and not bisoprolol. bisoprolol helps to antagonize sympathetic overactivity caused by cardiac failure. Besides I don't usually advice sudden withdrawal of any B-blocker (bisoprolol). So ask your treating physician for proper replacement of it.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards Dr. Hiren
