General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

What I can understand from your description is it's cardiomyopathy which caused that episode and not bisoprolol.
bisoprolol helps to antagonize sympathetic overactivity caused by cardiac failure.
Besides I don't usually advice sudden withdrawal of any B-blocker (bisoprolol). So ask your treating physician for proper replacement of it.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards
Dr. Hiren
