Does Smoking Marijuana Cause Severe Back Pain, Vomiting And Breathlessness?

My husband won t let me call the emergency services, but he came home from work early because he has severe pain on the left side of his back in the middle. He has been vomiting and is complaining that he can t catch his breath. He admitted that he has been smoking marijuana, but was trying to quit today. He seems to think these symptoms are related, but I am worried that it is something worse.
