Does Smoking Methamphetamine After Tongue Piercing Cause Any Side Effects?

Hi this question is for a relative , she got her tongue pierced about 2 hrs ago and she smokes... Meth. I know it s the worst , no opinion on that is needed , but her question is, what can go wrong since she smokes n it s fresh wound .. and how can she care for herself so not to get infected??????

Thanks for the query..

Smoking releases chemicals and heat inside mouth that can have an inflammatory action in the area exposed and in her case it is her oral cavity..

As the tongue piercing wound is fresh smoking can cause inflammation over the piercing site and it can also delay healing..

The chances of Infection are also high in this case..

So my suggestion is that she should avoid smoking for at least a week and let the wound heal..

She should do warm saline gargles and antiseptic mouthwash gargles..
Take soft diet..
Do cool compresses over the piercing site..
