Does Smoking And Chewing Nicorette Cause Arrhythmia Of The Heart?

I was sent for a EKG and it came back as slightly elevated arrhythmia. At the time I was trying to quite smoking and was chewing nicoret gum. Could this have caused the arrhythmia? I also suffer from anxiety disorder, panic attacks and depression. My doctor who sent me for the EKG was my psychiatrist and really had no concerns about the out come of the EKG

Dear I am not sure about what do you want to say by slightly elevated arrhythmia.we need to see the ecg for that.their are many types of arrhythmia some are very dangerous few are not so . that we can only assess by seeing ecg.you are Diagnosed with anxiety and depression . You must be taking some drugs for that..Some antidepressants drugs can cause arrhythmia .that we have to take care of .This is not the proper place to discuss this..If you have any arrhythmia you need prompt management for that.you must consult your physician for that.hope this will help.you have left smoking that is very good move of you . smoking is very important risk factor for heart attack and arrhythmia . So continue with smoking cessation .
