Hi im a 25 year old male thats been smoking for 10 years on and off. The last 3 years i was smoking ciggerttes everyday and the last year 5-10 cigs a day. My hair is thining so bad to the spoint you can see my scalp whats going on? and will my hair go back to normal if i quit?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Smoking might not be directly related to the hair loss what you could be experiencing. Hair loss or thinning what is happening could be mostly due to genetic factors. However, smoking could contribute to hair loss in addition as it increases the oxidative stress in the body which would damage hair follicles leading to excess hair loss. Kindly quit smoking completely and get yourself evaluated by consulting Dermatologist, so that proper evaluation could be made and managed. Hope the information provided would be helpful.
