I'm 37 weeks pregnant I haven't smoked in 2 weeks...I would only smoke cuz I wasn't able to keep any food down but quit cuz i didnt want to risk getting in trouble but then i couldnt keep food down and was told if I didnt gain the proper weight cps would be involved so I started smoking again but only smoked 3x a day just so I could eat will I be clean in 2 weeks when I have the baby cuz I honestly just didn't know what to do which is worse not being able to eat or smoking while pregnant I would like to add that I don't smoke cigarettes or drink
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... Smoking during pregnancy is very harmful to your child .Cigarette smoke contains harmful chemicals like cyanide, carbon monoxide, lead and at least 60 cancer-causing compounds. When you smoke during pregnancy these toxic chemicals get into your blood stream & thereby your baby. The most serious complications including stillbirth, premature delivery, and low birth weight. They are due to action of nicotine and carbon monoxide work together to reduce your baby's supply of oxygen. Even just one or two cigarettes will significantly tighten blood vessels.
You are advised to completely shutdown smoking.
Refer to your gynaecologist
Hope this information helps
