Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve had issues with kidney stones since i turned 15. Which coincidentally happens to be whenever I started smoking pot. I am currently 18 and I ve had issues with Kidney stones ever since. I haven t attempted to quit marijuana since then but i smoke every day. Would that be a cause for my Kinsey stones or is this all just coincidence?
Smoking and renal calculus are not related. It is just a coincidence. Smoking is not known to cause renal calculus. Formation of renal calculus may be due to many causes like dehydration, high sugar and protein diet etc are risk factors for calculus formation. It is important to know size and position of renal calculus.I advise for definitive treatment of renal calculus. You should drink plenty of water. You should try to quit smoking. It is not good for your health. You are only 18 years old and every thing is possible with strong will power.
Get well soon. Take Care Dr.Indu Bhushan
