Does Smoking Pot Cause Fever And Chills?

Hi I am 33 years old male and an occasional drinker and pot smoker. Last night I ate normally had 6 Drinks, smoked pot, and had unprotected sex. I drank and smoked from 8 pm to 1 am. I started having chills and then a fever that went up to 100.4 and went away within 2 hours. I had chills during this time and then got very very warm after. I had no nausea or vomiting. Could this be from drinking? Possible HIV infection? Could there have been something on the weed?

We understand your concern.

Alcohol and weed use are not good for health.They will cause multiple psychological and neurological problems. They will increase high risk behaviour. As experienced by you having unprotected sex is one among them.Please stop using drugs particularly in combination to avoid adverse effects.

The fever with chills is unlikely to be because of weed or alcohol. It could be secondary to urinary tract infections. Kindly consult the doctor, as you will need some test like urine routine and culture , complete blood count.You will antibiotics if you are infected.

Consult ART centre to start prophylactic anti retroviral medications until it is confirmed that you are free of HIV. Chances of contacting HIV through unprotected sex is very high.It will need two blood tests to confirm that.
