Hi, i have had a sore throat for about a week now and it hasn't been getting better at all. I went to the doctor twice and two strep cultures which both came back negative. I had protected sex with someone I didn't know very well a few weeks ago and even though we used protection I'm still very nervous. I've heard that a sore throat that persists for a long time can sometimes be an early symptom of HIV. My doctor said that both of my glands were swollen but only the left side of my throat actually hurts when I swallow and stuff. Please help!
