Does Sporadic Fever And Lack Of Urination In A Child Need Doctor S Attention?

my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter has been sick since Friday. She was told by the doctor yesterday that she may have 2 viruses. One is upper respitory and the other is intestinal. She has had a low grade fever off and on since Friday. Today it is early afternoon and she hasn t urinated since last night before bed. She drinks a few sips of water/gatorade and not eating much. Should I take her back to Doctor?

HELLO
The fever in children can cause a dehydration and the absence of urination for more than 8 hours is a sign of dehydration, your granddaughter needs to drink more water.
If she refuses the water you can use an oral rehydration solution which can be found in any pharmacy .
If there are signs like drowsiness or irritability, dry or cold skin, low energy levels, no tears when crying, you should take her to the doctor immediately to start the rehydration with isotonic saline especially with her refusing of water.

Hope I answered your question
Wish your granddaughter a speedy recovery
Best regards
