Does Stopping Citalopram Intake Cause Anxiety And Dizziness?
I am taking Azithromycin and I also take Citalopram. I took my first dose of Az on Thursday and stopped the Citalopram that night. I am feeling very anxious and lightheaded . I am wondering if it is because I stopped the Citalopram? Is it bad to stop the medication like I did,
Hello dear. Welcome to Healthcaremagic. I read your query and I understand your concern. Your symptoms are clearly coming from stoping citalopram. The dose should be decreased gradually ex for 12weeks if you took it for6-8weeks. Your doctor will evaluate your situation if you dont need to take it anymore or if you have to continue taking it . Also your doctor will recommend the dose you should be taking. Take care. Hope my answer was helpful, if yes, vote helpful. Regards, Dr Olgeta Xhufka ( general and family physician ).
