Does Sudden Withdrawal From Zoloft Cause Weakness And Tremors In The Body?

My mother in law is 80 years old and has RSD for over 5 years. She has been in a wheelchair the whole time. Starting last night is now unable to hold her upper body up. She will fall foward or side. We found out she stopped taking her Zoloft cold turkey. Is this the reason for her tremors and weakness to hold herself up or is it the RSD getting worse? Thank you

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Checking your case, I could say it is the reflex sympathetic dystrophy related symptoms. Take an MRI scan to rule out central nervous system related issues.

Hope this information helps.
