Does Surgery Solve The Problem Of Adenoid And Tonsils Permanently ?
does surgery solve the problem of adenoid and tonsils? what about the alergies that cause adenoid? like alergies caused by artificial colours and preservatives and certain foods. after surgery will my 7 yr old be able to eat cakes and chips which have been prohibited so long?
I have gone through your query regarding adenotonsillitis and it's surgery. Here I would like to say that recurrent adenotonsillitis is caused by infection may be bacterial or viral and at the same times allergic hypertrophy of adenoids if there exist that should be differentiated because allergic pathology is never corrected by surgery.
This differentiation is possible by clinical history (in allergic cases one will get other allergic features like bouts of sneezing, watery nasal discharge, and irritating dry cough), similarly in examination nasal mucosa will be pale and oedematous in allergy and red & congested in infection. This differentiation is confirmed by culture and sensitivity of throat swab.
In nutshel allergic patients after operation may get some relief but not complete on the otherhand if any one is having chronic adenotonsillitis due to chronic infection will always experence excillent results after operation.
Regards.
