Does Swelling And Pain In The Arm Post Injury Need Medical Attention?

I banged the side of my arm about 13 hours ago on the corner of a railing post, it s been swollen all day...no bruising, and slight pain, my hand also feels swollen. Should I go and get it checked for hairline fracture? Or just ice it and take ibuprofen?

If along with swelling and pain, movements of the upper limb are restricted, then you may need to get medical attention. Its necessary to take an X Ray to rule out fracture.
If the pain is mild you can start taking Analgesics, which helps relieve both pain and swelling.Do not bear any weights and give rest to that limb. You should be fine in few days.
I wish you speedy recovery.
