My wife has recently been prescribed Wellbutrin 150 mg. She has been taking it since Friday. Her lips lower lip swelled up this afternoon and in the last hour her upper lips and cheek has began to swell. I have given her benadryl. Should we seek medical attention

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain, swelling of lips and cheek after taking Wellbutrin seems to be due to allergic reaction to Wellbutrin leading to Angioedema of the lips and cheek..

As you have already given her benadryl it will help in reducing swelling but you also need to re-consult her treating Physician and get her evaluated so that he/ she can change to other similar drugs that can be compatible to her body and does not cause allergic reaction..

As of now continue giving her benadryl and along with it do cool compresses over the lips..
Drink plenty of water as it can help in removing toxins from the body..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
