Does Swollen/dry Vagina And Cold Sore In Mouth Indicate Herpes?
The right side of my vaginal opening is extremely swollen and dry. It is extremely painful to touch, walk or sit. It is not itchy, just very swollen compared to the other side and very painful. The only sex I have ever had is protected with a condom, but a couple weeks after having protected sex I have been experiencing these symptoms. I am worried that it could be herpes because I have also developed a cold sore on the corner of my mouth.
Since you are experiencing cold sore and vaginal symptoms, possibility of herpes simplex infection or other sexually transmitted infection need to be considered. Vaginal examination, vaginal swab and culture are required at this point. Please follow up with your ObGyn for necessary evaluation. Meanwhile, you can take Cetirizine if vaginal itching is too bothersome.
