Does Swollen Throat Cause Mucus Build Up In Throat?
I been having a to of mucus in my sinus and throat causing blood oxygen level to be low. My lung doctor siad I have upper respiratory in section and Bronchitis. Ater 14 days on cipro and predesign. I still have all this mucus. In the morning thick mucus trying to cough out my throat. I also have a Tracheotomy. Do I have sinus problem may a nasal drip or do I have swollen throat tissues? Can swollen throat cause mucus build up in the throat?
Excessive mucus and post nasal drip can occur in upper respiratory tract infections, sinusitis or even due to any nasal deformities. X-Ray chest and para nasal sinuses can be done to rule out any abnormalities. Nasal endoscopy should also be done to rule out any nasal defects.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
