Does Taking Amitriptyline For Nerve Pain In The Neck Cause Weight Gain?

I have been prescribed Amitriptyline for nerve pain in my neck. Im reading the reviews on this medication. Many people have had rapid weight gain as a side effect. I do not want to deal with weight gain. Is this a side effect that most people experience?

It isn't common but it could happen. It works on serotonin and that is involved with eating. However, it is probably about as likely for someone to lose weight as gain it. I haven't seen it to be a consistent nor a big problem.
