Does Taking Crocin And Norflox-TZ Cause Side Effects After Conceiving?

Hi... My wife s period date is 19th of every month. She was down with fever from 14th to 16th of this month(July), so she took a crocin tablet on 15th July. And than took Norflox TZ on 16th July as she also had a upset stomach. She recovered from both above illness gradually. But her period didn t happened on the due date.We had some round of whiskey on 21st and 22nd July weekend.On 23rd July, we did a pregnancy test just at home. The test was positive. To reconfirm, we again did another pregancy test today, where we got the same result. She didn t know about her pregnancy, so she had the tablets and the alcohol.. If she knew that she wouldn t prefer taking that. My question is, is taking of crocin and Norflox TZ tablets harmful during pregnancy and does it effect the baby or the mother in anway. Also, as she had alcohol also, is it harmful for the baby and her! Please advise. And sorry for the long discription of my worry. Regards,

Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Crocin can be taken safely during pregnancy.. but Norflox TZ being category C drug for pregnancy... should be given when it's benefit over weighs the side effects,
( toxic to embryo / increased incidences of birth defects .. when given in high doses for prolonged time )BUt she has taken it only for 3 days & hope not in high dosage.
Home pregnancy test is reliable after 8 days delay in menses. You had repeated it twice... but it was not after 8 days delay in periods... please repeat it to confirm.
Consult your gynecologist with dosage of Norflox TZ taken, she would check her up & have regular physical/ usg scan follow up to note any change earliest ... & specific management as per need.
