Does Taking Diprospan Injection During Pregnancy Cause Harm To The Fetus?

My wife is 30 weeks pregnant had a diprospan injection for her swollen feet 4 days ago. Since then, we could not feel the baby's kick which has been happening daily prior to the injection. We consulted our gynae and movement and heartbeat is there but the movement is not very strong. Is the injection affecting the foetal?

Hello,
I can understand your concern about your baby and wife very well.
I would like to tell you that diprospan injection contains betamethasone, which is a steroid and its actually used for fetal lung maturity, in case of pre term delivery. As your wife is 30 weeks pregnant and having swollen feet, your gynec must have felt that there are chances of preterm delivery, so as a prophylaxis, steroid injections are given for maturity of fetal lung.
So steroid injections will not affect the growth of fetus or in other words, it won't harm fetus at all. I would like to suggest you to consult your gynec and clarify everything, so you will be relieved.
Hope this will help you and let me know directly if you have any of your related queries, i will be happy to guide you in right direction.
