Does Taking Elleste Cause Weight Gain?

I ve just started Elleste 2mg because my symptoms, having recently started menopause, were problematic. I hear that the tablets may cause weight gain. I notice that I ve gained about a stone over the past 2 months, since starting menopause. It seems that weight gain is triggered either way?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Some medications particularly hormonal medications can cause weight gain.Menopause can also be associated with weight gain in some persons.

Medications cause weight gain by increasing appetite, decreasing fullness, altering physical activity (by decreasing energy) or metabolism.
By consciously noting any change in appetite/fullness and using appropriate foods that would not be associated with weight gain and also being physically active, it may be possible to prevent any further gain.

I hope this helps
