Does Taking Glyburide And Levaquin Together Cause Breathing Difficulty?
If a patient is a diabetic and takes glyberide and is given an antibiotic (Levaquin) for a UTI and begins having difficulty breathing, Are these medications contraindicated to be given together causing the breating difficulty if so what should be changed the antibiotic or the DM medication
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As far as my clinical experience is concerned, the breathlessness at present is due to drug interaction giving bronchi spasm; you must stop antibiotic Levaquin at present and consult your doctor for replacement of the molecule.
Do give me further chance to assist in future.
Thank you.
