Does Taking Levothyroxine For Thyroid Lead To Osteoporosis?

I've been taking a relatively low dose of Levothyroxine (50 mcg/day) for several years now due to minor thyroid deficiency. I have heard recently that thyroid medication such as this can lead to osteoporosis, and in general, I don't like taking pharmaceuticals if it's possible NOT to take them. Assuming you are not employed by the company that promotes Actalin, what is your feeling about this (or another) supplement that I might consider to replace Levothyroxine without risking thyroid function imbalance?

1. Since there is no alternate to hormone in any -pathy thus thyroxine is the only available drug - as medicine as well as supplement.

2. Too much thyroxine causes loss of calcium from bone and then in urine, [in Hyperthyroidism] thus check periodically with Thyroid Function test to know the status of TSH [thyroid stimulating hormone] and take natural calcium supplements like: milk, guava, sitaphal, fish.
