Does Taking Meprate After Intercourse Help In Preventing Unwanted Pregnancy?

Hi Dr While having sex with my GF condom ditched us and hence ejaculated inside her. She was about to get her periods in 1-2 days! But still she took meprate for 4 days and now its 10 days and there is no sign of periods! Can she be pregnant or meprate would have saved us from pregnancy?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Meprate is not an emergency contraceptive so she can get pregnant while taking it. Since you say she was at the end of the cycle chances are low.

Take care.
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help you.

Best regards,
Dr.Olgeta Xhufka
