Does Taking Nucynta ER 100 & Nucynta 75 Show Up Differently On Drug Test?
I am getting a ua next week from my pain mgmt. dr. He has me on Nucynta ER 100 & Nucynta 75 (this one is for breakthrough pain). Will they show up differently on my drug test? Also....do ua s show the AMOUNT of meds in your system or just that you have it in your system? Thanks!
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
Nucynta ER and Nucynta are different brand names of the same medication Tapentadol - which is an opioid analgesic. The difference between them is that Nucynta ER is an "entended release" preparation, which means that the medication is released more slowly and over a longer period of time than the plain Nucynta preparation.
So, technically, they will not show up differently in urine drug screens as both contain the same medication. Regarding to your second question about urine tests detecting the amount of drug, it depends on the type of test that is done. Certain types of tests can detect the amount of drug excreted in the urine, which in turn would be proportional to the amount of drug in your system.
Wish you all the best.
