Does Taking Otomize During Pregnancy Harm The Fetus?

I am 18 weeks pregnant and have used otomize probably a handful of times during pregnancy. Phoned Drs to get repeat and they said it’s not recommended. I’m concerned about the risk to unborn baby. Any advice reassurance would be gratefully received.

Hello there I have read through your question and understand your concern. Otomize ear drops contain dexamethasone and neomycin. Though no conclusive evidence is there regarding the adverse effects of dexamethasone on the foetus but neomycin which is an aminoglycoside may cause fetal ototoxicity. I would advise you to not use it during pregnancy and lactation. As you have said you have only used it a couple of times , I don't think it will cause any harm to the foetus.
