Does Taking Plan B After Having Sex Lead To Light Spotting?
I had sex on my period on a Monday, he did not cum in me but I took the plan b pill on Tuesday just to be safe. My period ended on Wednesday and we decided to have sex on Friday. This Sunday morning I wiped myself and there was blood. Is this due to taking the plan b pill?
Unexpected bleeding or spotting can be caused by Plan B but it goes away slowly. No need to get apprehended. It is possible that levonorgestrel or plan B may cause your next period to be heavier or lighter than usual. It may also come earlier or later than your normal time. Other adverse effects of plan B are breast tenderness, nausea, abdominal pain, headache and vomiting.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
