Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I have a regular painless but a bit heavy period. My gyn prescribed me 90 PCs of primolut which I started on my second day of my period. It has been 40 days since I saw my period. Does one cant menstruate while taking primolut? I did home pregnancy test and I am not pregnant and also dont have any pregnancy symptoms. What shall I do. I really want my period back...
Primolut is a hormone similar to the female hormone progesterone and may affect the periods so the delay may be due to its use. You might need to talk with your doctor on this and to decide on further use of it or necessary treatment. Sometimes to help with bleeding with periods combined oral contraception is a good option as estrogens and progesterone balance one another and is less chance of problems with the periods.
I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
