Does Taking Proton Pump And Prokinetic Agents Safe For Laryngopharyngeal Reflux?
I was just told 1 hour ago by a doctor that I have laryngeal reflux. He recommended Prokinetics and proton pump inhibitors. These have severe side effects and are not that easy to be prescribed. Also they are short-term and cause fatal heart arrhythmia. What can I do to cure my problem naturally? Do you have any Natural Path Doctors?Thank you,Dalia

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Proton pump inhibitors and prokinetics are well tolerated and doesn't have side effects like you mentioned when taken in proper dosage. Proton pump inhibitors like rabeprazole and prokinetics like domperidone or itopride is usually given for this. If you want to treat it naturally then you have to avoid fatty, spicy and greasy foods. Fermenting foods also should be avoided. Alcoholic drinks, carbonated drinks, coffee should be avoided. You should take light meals at short intervals. Give at least 2 hours interval between meals and bed time. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
