Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Taking Tamsulosin Alone Help In The Treatment Of An Enlarged Prostate?
Hello, I am currently taking both tamsulosin HCL and cialis for my enlarged prostate. I had understood i needed both to reduce my prostate and the symptoms. I have had diabetes for 19 years. Today I found out i have had several silent heart attacks so the cardiologist is adding some new meds and told me to stop taking the cialis. Will the tamsulosin still work without the cialis?
Cialis is Tadalafil relaxes muscles of the blood vessels and increases blood flow to particular parts of the body, this way it improves urinary tract symptoms.
But it has some cardiovascular side effects especially if given together with some cardiac medications. That's why the doctor has stopped you taking it further.
There are many other medications that can be used in your situation so just take what your doctor will describe to you and follow his instructions.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Suzana Zharri,
