Sir, I underwent angioplasty in 2006. Now I take nebicard 2.5, repace 25, levocarnitine 500, torsimide 10 mg, atrovastatin 10 mg, clopidogrel 10 mg. last year I took zytanix 10 mg twice a week.At week end I feel breathelessness, heavy feeling in abdomen. When I take zytanix along with torsimide, I urinate profusely, feels comfort but at the same time I feel very weak. what to do now, sir?

Zytanix (metolazone) when taken with torsemide can cause decrease in potassium levels called as hypokalemia. Hypokalemia causes weakness, breathlessness and abdominal distension (feeling of fullness in abdomen).
Metolazone is also a diuretic and adds on to the effect of torsemide; so you are also having increased urination.
On addition of Zytanix, you have been experiencing the side effect of hypokalemia. Fine tuning of the dose, potassium supplementation along with frequent monitoring of potassium levels will help in managing these side effects.
You can discuss the above things if your doctor wants to prescribe Zytanix for you again.
