Does Taking Birth Control Pills Cause Changes In The Menstrual Cycle?
I ve taken several types of birth control, all prescribed by my dermatologist to prevent acne. While my acne has improved, my periods have become long and painful. I ve switched several times, and when I found one that worked, we had to change it for insurance reasons. Is it the type of birth control I m taking that is causing me to get my period a week early?

Does Taking Birth Control Pills Cause Changes In The Menstrual Cycle?
Hello, A slight alteration in menstrual cycle can happen with hormonal pills, it will be transient and will settle by itself. If symptoms persist better to consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
