Does Taking Birth Control Pills Lead To Delay In Periods?

I just started my birth control pills 5 days ago, and me and my boyfriend are sexually active but we have sex unprotected (he uses the pull out method) so we re both positive I m not pregnant. But I was supposed to get my period 5 days ago, I use a Ptracker app and that s what it says..people have told me though that it s normal to skip a period while starting birth control, and I m worried about the possibility of being pregnant...

Hello,

Yes, your periods may be delayed with usage of birth control pills. Any time between 23 and 40 days is normal menstrual cycle. So you can wait for some more time for periods. Still if you have a doubt, you can use the home pregnancy kit method to check if you are pregnant.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
