Does Taking Double Dose Of Clidamycin Help In Clearing Infection?
I am a 21 year old female, 170 lbs. I have been prescribed clindamycin, my doctor said i was supposed to take 2 pills every 12 hours for 7 days. So I did that, for the first 2 days I ve been taking 2 at a time every 12 hours. Then I noticed the bottle was almost empty. The bottle says to take ONE! Every 12 hours. I ve taken 9 pills within 60 hours. Will i be ok? Will the infection still clear?
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query. I understand your concern. There is no need to worry about the overdose as the toxic level of the drug is much higher. Now you should continue the medicine as one tablet every 12 hours till finish. You should also check with the doctor whether you require to take more depending on the infection the doctor prescribed it for you.
If you have further queries, I am available. Take Care Dr. Noble Zachariah
