Does Taking Expired Amoxicillin Pills Cause Any Side Effects?
I take Amoxicillin 1 hour before dentistry because I have an artificial hip. My pharmacy pill box says to discard after 11/4/16. It is now 7/25/17. I have an appointment with a dentist tomorrow. Can I still take those tablets tomorrow before my appointment? What would be the problem?
You are not advisable to take any medication that is expired and is over of its shelf life.
This is because the expired drugs starts decomposing and the decomposition products can be at times toxic and can cause severe health hazards..
At times expired medicines can cause severe drug reactions that can be life threatening..
So my suggestion to you is to discard the expired Amoxicillin and get a fresh pack from the pharmacy after getting it prescribed by an emergency doctor..
Hope this helps.
Regards..
